Part of disciple-making is learning and Bible study – and our Continuing Lay Training (CLT) classes are designed to dive deep into Scripture (and into the real issues Scripture seeks to confront).
In our CLT classes, we seek to approach Scripture as the inspired Word of God, seeking what each verse, chapter, and book reveals about God. Scripture is taken in a wider context than we have the opportunity to in other settings, and CLT participants gain the skills necessary for serious Bible study on their own.
We learn to observe Scripture in its original context, with the original human writer and audience in mind, applying as much history and detail as we can while we explore the deeper recesses of the text. This allows us to apply Scripture to life today with less guesswork, and more assurance of understanding the text that we study.
Each CLT participant who completes a study receives a certificate of completion from the Church of the Nazarene headquarters.
We currently offer Continuing Lay Training (CLT) at 4:00pm on Sunday afternoons.
